The vision behind groups at New Life

Our mission at New Life is to cultivate a community that enjoys God and transforms the world through the Gospel. Our hope is that each group at New Life fulfills that mission by:

Cultivate a Community
- Each group should have a sense of fellowship and enjoyment of one another. Group members should enjoy one another.
Enjoys God
- Each group should enjoy God and grow in Christ-likeness. Groups should have an element of spiritual formation where they grow together as disciples.
Transforms the World
- Each group should be missional. They aren't solely inward-focused, but are inclusive to outsiders. They also give back in service to others and the community.

By accomplishing the three purposes of a group, they are part of fulfilling the mission at New Life.

SELAH (WOMEN'S MINISTRY)

Selah is a New Life Bible Fellowship Women's Connection Experience on Wednesday Mornings and Evenings. We are a place where every woman, regardless of age, spiritual journey, or church affiliation, can come and find a connection with God and each other. We hope and pray that every woman who comes finds that they are seen, known, heard, and deeply loved.

The Nest @MomsMatter is a ministry for moms of young children (pregnancy through pre-school). The purpose of this ministry is to provide a comfortable place for moms to come and experience authentic relationships and be encouraged by fellow moms. Our desire is for every mom to feel seen and known for who they are, not for being "just a mom." Our meetings include a hot breakfast, speakers sharing various topics that are relevant, meaningful, and fun, an occasional craft/service project to bless those in need in our community, and, most importantly, plenty of time to have adult conversations with fellow moms.

Make plans to join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings this Winter/Spring, beginning January 20. We will meet from 9am until 11:30am. Childcare will be offered

COMMUNITY FOR SENIORS

God has an exciting plan for every senior adult as we continue to grow, serve, mentor, teach, and develop lasting relationships. Our active Senior Adults group gathers on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month for food, fun, and fellowship. We have guest speakers, times of diving deeper into God’s Word, and we are committed to building friendships and encouraging one another. We also serve throughout the church in various ministries.

On the 2nd Tuesday of the month, we meet at 9:30am for a relevant lesson, video, or guest speaker. We will have Continental breakfast items available (and we always appreciate donations to cover costs).

On the 4th Tuesday of the month, we have our lunch gathering at 11:30am.

COMMUNITY FOR YOUNG ADULTS

The College & Young Adults Group at New Life is designed to help 18-25(ish) year olds, out of high school, discover purpose and provide a place to find community with others on the same journey toward unique, passionate, and inspired living! We are full of real people, with real problems, looking for real answers.

We find that by gathering around a table and sharing a meal, there is a bond and a safe space for anyone, whether you are churched, unchurched, or navigating faith, to discover who God is and find your God-given purpose together with others on the same journey.

We meet weekly for time together around the table and the Word. In addition, we have occasional social events such as fun nights, outings, retreats, and more. Join us and watch how life changes in community!

Connections Pastor

Dustin DeJong

Dustin is an Arizona native who grew up on a dairy farm in Maricopa. He and Lori have three kids: Peyton, Colby, and Jeremiah. He studied ministry at Hope International University and Grand Canyon University before pursuing a Master of Divinity from Gateway Seminary. He has pastored all over the state of Arizona (Tucson, Phoenix, and Flagstaff) and has spent time in youth, children’s, adults, small groups, leadership development, and tech ministries. He loves to explore Tucson and beyond with his wife as they take in the best food and drink offerings (especially breakfast and coffee).

Stacy MacLaren

Stacy is an almost–Arizona native, and she can’t imagine life anywhere but the Old Pueblo. She and her “Rocket Scientist” husband, Roger, have been married for nearly 35 years. After spending much of her adult life raising a family and working in various industries, she entered a new season and is now pursuing a Master of Educational Leadership at Gateway Seminary. Stacy loves leading and serving in Adult Ministries, especially Women’s Ministry and Young Adults, and she’s passionate about helping the First Impressions Team create a “home” where everyone feels genuinely welcome. An extroverted introvert at heart, she’s happiest at home with Roger, her grandson, and her daughter-in-love. And as the only woman on the ELT, she is begrudgingly learning about all things SPORTSBALL!!
